AUGUST 2025
Risograph Workshop
The Columbia Museum of Art and USC’s School of Visual Art + Design are teaming up at The Design Studio for a hands-on Risography Workshop!
Risography is perfectly imperfect—a vibrant, digital silkscreen-like process that brings designs to life in bold, unexpected ways. In this workshop, you'll dive into the fundamentals of Riso printing, experiment with its unique textures, and kickstart a project that will later be bound in an exclusive Book Binding Workshop!
Don’t miss this chance to create, explore, and print like never before.
The First-Year Read Experience started in 1993. The first poster was created by an Art Department Student in Graphic Design, since then the tradition has continued while the posters change from 1 color to 4, from hand illustration to photography and typography. Students always pushed the limits of what their client ask for. In 2013 we created the first accompanying book jacket design and we have continued to that since that year. This project is distributed to 15,000 people.
